| ICE CREAM DRINKS All of the following recipes can be made with low-fat OR no-fat ice cream and skim milk in order to keep calories and fat grams down! We've also been told that frozen yogurt is great, too! COLD DRINKSCoffee Soda 3 heaping Tbsp. Fireside Coffee 4 oz. boiling water 4-6 ice cubes 8 oz. club soda 1 scoop vanilla ice cream (optional)
Combine the coffee and boiling water in a large soda glass and stir to dissolve. Allow the coffee to cool slightly. Add the ice cubes and club soda and mix well. Pour into a tall glass and add a scoop of ice cream to make a Coffee Soda Float, if desired. Fireside Granita 6 oz. water 3-4 tsp. Fireside Coffee 12 oz. cup of ice
Blend in blender on high until smooth. Fireside Smoothie 6 oz. Skim Milk 3-4 tsp. Fireside Coffee 12 oz. of crushed ice
Blend in blender on high until smooth. Iced Cafe Au Laite 1 cup prepared Fireside Coffee 1 cup chilled skim milk 1 Tbsp. whipped topping Pinch of ground cinnamon 1/2 tsp. vanilla
Combine vanilla and milk with coffee. Pour the mixture over ice and top with whipped topping and a pinch of ground cinnamon. Serves 2. Iced Fireside Coffee Put 2 oz. warm water and 4 tsp. Fireside Coffee (any flavor) in blender. Blend until mixed. Pour over ice. Add chilled sparkling water or club soda, stir and enjoy! DESSERTS Coffee Sauce 1 cup heavy cream 1 cup prepared Fireside Coffee 3 egg yolks 1 cup sugar 1 tsp. vanilla extract
In a medium, heavy saucepan, scald together the cream and coffee. Beat the egg yolks with the sugar for 8-10 minutes with an electric mixer until mixture is very thick and lemon colored. Gradually beat in the warm coffee mixture. Return to the pan and cook over low heat, stirring, until mixture boils and thickens. Stir in the vanilla. Cool, cover and chill until very cold. Makes 2 1/2 cups. Spoon over a brownie, plain angel food or pound cake for a luscious dessert. Flavored Dessert Topping You may flavor a small carton of whipped topping with your favorite flavor of Fireside Coffee! Simply add a heaping tablespoon (more if desired) to a carton of whipped topping. Mix well and let it sit overnight in the refrigerator. Prior to serving, mix well and use it to top desserts -- the options are endless -- butter rum is excellent on fruit; cinnamon is great on pumpkin pie or apple pie; any flavor would be great on pound cake or a dense chocolate torte,e tc.! Experiment with your own favorite taste combinations! HOT DRINKS Flavored Coffee For those who prefer a stronger coffee taste, try making your normal cup of coffee and adding a 2-3 teaspoons of your favorite Fireside Coffee Mix! This works just like the flavored creamers -- but adds the rich taste of Fireside Coffee! Nogged Coffee 1 cup prepared Fireside Coffee 1 egg yolk 1 Tbsp. sugar 1/2 cup cream dash nutmeg
Beat sugar and egg yolk together. Place cream into sauce pan and heat over low setting. Whisk in egtg mixture. Heat to 200 F degrees. Pour coffee into cups and top with cream mixture. Garnish with nutmeg. |
