This is a high-quality singing bowl made from seven healing metals, with a long, soothing and clear tone. It has the mantra of Avalokiteshvara the Bodhisattva of Love and Compassion “Om Mani Padme Hung” engraved on the outside of the bowl, and a relief carving of the Avalokiteshvara inside the bowl.
Avalokiteshvara is the Buddhist deity of Great Compassion who has vowed to relieve the suffering of all beings. Avalokiteshvara is the spiritual father of Tara, who is said to have been born from a lotus that grew in a lake formed by the tears he shed as he gazed in compassion at the infinite sufferings of the world. Avalokiteshvara’s mantra “Om Mani Padme Hung” is endowed with the capacity to purify one’s mind from evils of all obscuration, thereby sowing the seeds of Love and Compassion in oneself.
